Aber um auf deine Erläuterung einzugehen, ich kann mir nicht votrstellen,
das dies mit der Höhe des Meerespiegels zutun hat.

Eher mit der Temperatur, warum Florian meinte das in Athen diese Bäume nicht funktionieren.

hier in Deutschland wachsen die Buchen sehr gut bei 100 meter oder weniger.

Diese gezeigte Hainbuche stammt aus Korea.....dort ist es auch heiß und die Bäume
leben dort sehr gut.

Bei Europäischen Hainbuchen kann es sein, das sie keine Hitze mögen.

Wobei meine Europäische Hainbuche in voller Sonne steht.

Ach einfach wunderschön die miniatur Blattform der Buche. Leider ist es in Athen zu heiß um Buchen zu halten. Wirklich Schade!

Really thrilled with your trees!!

As to father-and-son carpinus; The tokoname pot is very nice and robust and highlights the bark
but, have you thought of planting it into an oval shallower coloured pot?
